Oliver Bull (b: West London, 1970) has painted since childhood. Encouraged by family – his mother, Anne Bull SWA, was a talented painter and member of both STISA and CAS – he benefited enormously from exposure to work by their friends Ken Paine, Debra Manifold, Kimm Stevens, Terence Cuneo and Ken Howard. He studied at Wimbledon School of Art; The Surrey Institute of Art & Design – gaining a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design – and spent 6 years working as a designer/concept visualiser.

Currently based in West Cornwall, Oliver paints en plein air and from a studio above the small fishing village of Mousehole – the exceptional light and coastal geography of the South West provides endless opportunity. A painter and surfer for some 30 years, he has a unique feel for the moods and atmosphere of the Atlantic coast. In very simple terms, his paintings are an emotional response to the marine environment; ambient impressions of a place he loves!

Oliver is a member of the St Ives Society of Artists and the Chelsea Art Society. A regular exhibitor at the Mall Galleries, his work is held in private collections throughout the world...
